My tattoos are a reflection of the sparkling magic and wonder I see in the world. From glittering dot work to painterly floral bursts, I love translating that feeling of childlike whimsy into wearable art. Memory and experience made visible.

What inspires me.

I’m heavily influenced by Impressionism, Neo-Impressionism, Dada (especially found object art), and modern, postmodern, and contemporary art. Anything that questions what art is or can be makes me happy. It opens my eyes to the truth that art is truly open to endless interpretation, just like those small moments in life where you truly see and feel the magic. Whether it’s in a morning coffee, the gentle warmth of the sun kissing your face, or squeezing your favorite plushy.

The meaning behind the dots.

My work is as much about the process as the result. With my dot work, each piece is made one dot at a time. Creating this way is a meditation for me, but a dot’s meaning goes beyond that.

Despite all our differences, we and all things are made of particles and atoms. Electrons circle nuclei as planets orbit the sun. The universe reflects itself, and my art takes those tiny vibrating particles that make up everything and makes them big. A dot is a small circle. A circle can stand for an individual piece and simultaneously a universe unto itself. Individually, each dot is its own world, but together, they become the glittering reflection of the small, joyous moments we sometimes get the gift of sharing and experiencing.

From dots to painterly strokes.

My painterly style is an extension of that. Taking a single dot into a bigger, chunkier streak further abstracts the image while expressing even more flow and freedom in a looser style.

Why joy matters.

Queer and BIPOC narratives are so often focused on tragedy and hardship—and they need to be, to spread awareness, to fight against bigotry and violence against our communities, and to help create a safer better world. But I also believe that our moments of joy, big or small, are what keep us going through the most difficult times. They are something worthy of artistic exploration and devotion. I hope to help clients mark their bodies with art that reminds them of joyful memories and experiences—a reminder that each and every one of us is deserving of happiness, love, and beauty in our lifetimes, despite all the hardships we may face.
